Welcome

Anne and Eric Nordell have been growing vegetables and cover crops with live horsepower since 1983, certified organic since 1987.

Thanks to Rural Heritage editor, Joe Mischka, and graphic artist, Aubrey Fornwalt, they are able to post the following articles describing recent innovations in cover crop management and reduced tillage. The end of the blog cover new topics such as their seven-wire sloped deer fence and benchmark numbers for horsepowered market gardeners.

More articles available in print in Rural Heritage are “Plow Photos Parsed” Feb/Mar 2015, “Case Study: Beech Grove Farm” Aug/Sep 2015, “Forecart Design” Aug/Sep 2016 and “Fly Protection for Horses” June/July 2018.

Anne and Eric were interviewed for the Farmer to Farmer Podcast in 2018. Their podcast can be downloaded here.
